WHAT STAYS THE SAME

Same wax. Different scale.

Both printers jet the same red castable wax at the same layer and resolution, so patterns from either one should cast alike. Test a flask in your own setup before you switch.

SPEED AND CAPACITY

How much faster is the WaxJet 530?

One or two pieces

About equal. The WaxJet 51C prints a single lane at about 7 mm/h, the WaxJet 530 at 6.35 mm/h.

A full plate

The WaxJet 51C drops to about 3.2 mm/h because one head covers both lanes. The WaxJet 530 keeps 6.35 mm/h across a plate 1.85 times the size, so it turns out about three times the wax a month.

Two WaxJet 51Cs give you 6 to 8 kg a month and a backup if one is down, and still fit on two benches.

PHYSICAL LIMITS

Will it fit your workshop?

WaxJet 51C site needs

A level table at least 120 × 80 cm that carries 115 kg

Standard doorways: the crate is 102 × 66 cm

An earthed 10 A socket on its own circuit

3 to 4 people for a moment to lift it onto the bench

WaxJet 530 site needs

About 1.4 × 0.8 m of floor plus service space around it

A floor rated for 480 kg on a small footprint

Access for a 1.84 m tall, 630 kg crate: check doors, lifts and stairs

A dedicated, climate controlled print room

THE DECISION

Which one is right for you?

Choose the WaxJet 51C if

You send your printing out today and want one-off pieces ready overnight

You make custom, bridal or remodelling work

Space is tight: it goes on a bench, no dedicated room

You want a lower entry cost and less wax on the shelf

You are replacing an older standalone wax printer

Choose the WaxJet 530 if

Speed matters: full plates at full speed, every run

You print for other businesses

You run batch or catalogue production

Your pieces are tall or large: bangles, cuffs, big pendants

A simple rule of thumb. If your pattern volume would fill less than one WaxJet 51C, start with a WaxJet 51C. If it would keep two or more WaxJet 51Cs busy, talk to us about the WaxJet 530. Anywhere in between, send us a typical week of files and we’ll show you how they lay out on each plate.

COMMON QUESTIONS

WaxJet printers, answered.

How do the WaxJet 51C and WaxJet 530 differ?

Both print 100% castable red wax at 2900 DPI in 15 µm layers. The desktop WaxJet 51C has one print head and makes 3 to 4 kg of patterns a month. The floor-standing WaxJet 530 has three print heads, a bigger build and makes 10 to 12 kg a month.

Can I cast WaxJet patterns with my usual burnout?

The patterns are 100% wax with ash under 0.01%, so they burn out like the wax you already cast. Run a test flask with your own investment and schedule before switching over; our free wax samples are the easiest way to do that.

How long does a WaxJet take to arrive?

Printers are imported to order from Flashforge, usually in around 6 weeks. Delivery, installation and training are included across the Sydney metropolitan area, within 50 km of the CBD.

Where can I buy WaxJet wax in Australia?

We supply genuine Flashforge FFWJ1200 red model wax and FFMS3200 white support wax for the WaxJet 51C, 510 and 530, shipped from Sydney. See our Consumables page for packs and prices.
