1. Getting started
CHAPTER 1
Before you start
You need a Windows PC on the same network as your WaxJet, your 3D models, and WaxJetPrint installed.
Computer
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with 32 GB of RAM minimum. Large plates and 3D Packing need the memory.
Connection
Ethernet to the RJ45 port on the back of the printer, or a USB stick to carry jobs across.
Files you can open
STL, OBJ and 3MF, plus WaxJetPrint's own WJP and WJM files.
Files it makes
WJP is a saved project. WJX is a print job the printer reads.
Export your CAD files in millimetres. If a model was drawn in inches, the Scale tool can convert it.
CHAPTER 2
Install WaxJetPrint
1
Download WaxJetPrint from our Software page (Download for Windows). It comes as a ZIP file.
2
Open your Downloads folder, right-click the ZIP and choose Extract All.
3
Double-click the WaxJetPrint installer (.exe) and follow the prompts.
4
Open WaxJetPrint and choose your language when asked. You can change it later under File › Preferences.
5
To stay current, use File › Check for Updates. If a newer version exists, WaxJetPrint opens the download page for you.
Stuck on installing? Contact 3D Werk and we will walk you through it.
