CHAPTER 4
Connect your printer
Do this once per printer. WaxJetPrint needs to know your printer, wax and shrink settings before it can prepare jobs.

Connect Machine wizard
1
Click Printer › Settings.
2
Printer: click Scan and pick your printer's tile. Not found? Use AssignIP and enter the IP shown on the printer's screen.
3
Material: choose the wax loaded in the printer.
4
Pattern: choose the print mode, for example XHD.
5
Style: tick a shrink style, then click Apply Configuration.

Style tab: each card holds X, Y and Z shrink ratios.
Shrink compensation
Wax shrinks slightly as it cools, so WaxJetPrint scales each job up a little. Flashforge's default for red build wax (FFWJ1200) on the WaxJet 51C is X 100.9%, Y 100.6%, Z 100%.
1
Print a test part (Create Part makes a simple box) and measure it in X and Y.
2
Work out each axis separately: New scale % = (CAD size − printed size) ÷ printed size × 100 + 100
3
Click the + card on the Style tab, enter your new X, Y and Z, tick it and click Apply Configuration. The status panel shows the new build size with the percentage beside it.
Only change shrink values from a measured test print. If castings come out undersize or oversize, contact us before adjusting.
